Upcoming event is an exciting illustrated talk on Wednesday, 23 May:
‘Uzbek Youth Culture – Discover the Dynamic, Creative Millennials!’
The speaker is, Temur Yusupov, a recent graduate from the Westminster International University in Tashkent
Some 42 percent of the population of Uzbekistan is under 25 years of age; Temur will shed light on the social life of these young people — what moves and motivates them. This won’t be a standard talk on the achievements of the country, but an exploration of the culture and mentality of today’s youth — the millennial generation. You will hear about their concerns, as well as the opportunities that are opening up for those who strive for a better, brighter future for themselves and for their society. Topics will range from fashion to cuisine; from sport to art-house theatres; and from chayxana culture to start-up culture.
Open to all, but registration mandatory at BUS events: firstname.lastname@example.org. Talk and refreshments are free for members and their guests; a modest contribution (around £5.00) from others would be welcome.
