Kathleen Rees, until her recent retirement, was a driving force in the “The Haven, Wolverhampton”. This, the largest refuge of its type in the UK, is a charitable organisation which provides practical and emotional support services to women and children who are affected by domestic violence and homelessness. Kathleen Rees pioneered contacts and collaborative projects between The Haven and partner organisations involved in women’s affairs in Uzbekistan.
