It is with great pleasure that we introduce our newly appointed chairman, Lord Waverley. With a keen focus on cross-border trade with the developing world and emerging markets, Lord Waverley is an influential voice in international affairs, consistently addressing the pressing challenges of our time. His distinguished career, spanning several decades, equips him with a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to enhancing the relationship between the United Kingdom and Uzbekistan.
Lord Waverley has been recognized with prestigious State decorations from Colombia, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan, and has also been honoured with a Yoruba Chieftaincy in Nigeria.
As a leading figure in international relations, he has tirelessly advocated for cultural exchange, economic collaboration, and mutual understanding between our two nations.
Today marks an exciting new chapter for the British Uzbek Society under Lord Waverley’s leadership. Please join us in extending a warm welcome to him as he embarks on this significant journey with us.

Eve Novikova is an accomplished events management professional with extensive business development and leadership experience in events and exhibition logistics for more than 18 years. She is a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual who manages the planning, budgeting, developing, and delivering of complex projects. She is proud of her experience working on large-scale, high-profile events in the culture sector, with people from all over the world, who come together to successfully achieve impossible results in a highly stressful and challenging environment. She believes in her experience, dedicated attitude, and ability to work under pressure and motivate people from any background, race, or religion. Eve first visited Uzbekistan at the end of 2017. It was evident to her, that with its population and natural resources, Uzbekistan has the potential to be one of the leading countries in Central Asia. She is eager to use her skills for the development and promotion of the British-Uzbek Society.

Tammy Dawson Doughty is the Managing Director of the UK Fresh Produce Network (UKFPN), where she plays a pivotal role in connecting and advancing the UK’s fresh produce industry. With a passion for fostering collaboration across the sector, Tammy drives initiatives that support sustainable growth, innovation, and market expansion for producers, distributors, and stakeholders.
In addition to her leadership role, Tammy serves as the Secretariat for the UKFPN All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG). In this capacity, she facilitates dialogue between policymakers and industry leaders, ensuring the voices of the fresh produce community are heard at the highest levels of government. Her expertise and dedication to promoting best practices have made her an influential figure in shaping policies that support the sector’s resilience and competitiveness.
Tammy’s background in creating business -centric services, engaging diverse stakeholders, and her commitment to community and commercial-centric solutions and growth complements her work in the fresh produce sector. Known for her innovative approach and strategic insight, she continues to advocate for the industry’s long-term success and its contribution to the UK economy.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Tammy is deeply engaged with initiatives that support education, trade, and development, exemplifying her commitment to a thriving and equitable future for all.

Elena Baranova

Elena Baranova is an experienced negotiator, corporate law, large infrastructure and power generation development specialist, project finance and investments negotiating with governments and businesses in the UK, EMEA and Central Asia.
Elena Baranova is qualified as a Solicitor of England and Wales and worked for the UK leading law firms in London and Jersey (Channel Island), advising funds, private and public companies in mining , energy and agriculture sectors on cross border financings, tax efficient structures, listings on London Stock Exchange (LSE) and Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEX).
Co-founder of IM Power Plc, an Independent Power Producer company, developing and investing into power generation projects fuelled by LNG, Oil and Gas, Renewables and low-carbon energy options through investments in solar, waste-to-energy and desalination plants in the EMEA and Central Asia regions. Working with leading energy players in power generation and industrial infrastructure in the UK (Siemens, GE, British Steel, Wood Group, Worley Parsons), Japan (Marubeni, Sumitomo), EU (Siemens Energy-turbines, Siemens Mobility), India (Jindal Steel & Power), and Turkey (GAMA).
Managing Director of Astera Energy, a developer and investor in solar-powered EV charging infrastructures and large battery storages for national grids, advising gold and copper mining companies on fundraising and power generation solutions in Central Asia and West Africa.
Elena is also acting as an independent judge for the International Property Awards, the awards celebrate the high levels of achievement by international companies in sustainable constructions, focusing on eco-friendly developments, operating in all sectors of property development and real estate industries.
