The British-Uzbek Society together with the Embassy of Uzbekistan in London organising an online roundtable discussion to help Uzbek exporters to learn about the entry requirements into the UK market.
Consumers are more concerned about their well-being than ever before. They’re taking more time to consider
the quality and nutritional benefits of the produce they eat. That’s why sales of organic and local produce is
increasing, giving fruit and vegetable retailers a boost. The most recent statistics for the horticulture industry
show that in 2022 the UK imported £2.7bn worth of vegetables and £3.9bn worth of fruit.
We would like to take this opportunity and organise an event to provide more information to potential exporters
in Uzbekistan on the UK market entry conditions and opportunities. To facilitate that we are hoping to invite the
following speakers.
Potential Speakers:
A shipping company/ customs specializing in fresh fruit and vegetable transportation
A specialized packaging company for fresh produce
A representative from Tashkent International Airport Cargo Terminal
An association providing an overview of the British market and viable entry mechanisms
